AI products for insurance claims evidence

SOFT EDGE builds software that measures vehicle damage from ordinary photographs and verifies that the evidence behind a claim is genuine. Our products are in production with insurers, claims platforms and repair networks.

2020

In commercial production since. Every hail season, without interruption.

One technology core, two products

Every motor claim now arrives as a set of photographs, and two questions follow. What is the damage worth, and is the evidence real? SOFT EDGE answers both from the same technology core: computer vision running on standard devices, measurement without a dedicated scanning rig, and standardised output that claims and estimating systems can consume directly.

Who we work with

Insurers

Shorten the assessment step after a hail event, apply one consistent measurement standard across every vehicle, and keep the estimating decision in your own system.

For insurers

Claims and estimating platforms

Add damage measurement to an existing platform through the API, or embed the assessment module inside your own product.

For platforms and OEMs

Repair and assessment networks

Practitioner licences, accessories and tutorials for PDR and body shops are handled on the HailMaster product site.

How an assessment works

01

Capture

On-screen guidance walks the operator through the vehicle. A scale marker or LiDAR provides the reference for measurement.

02

Measure

Computer vision detects and sizes each dent, panel by panel, on the device rather than in a fixed installation.

03

Standardise

Results are expressed as a dent count per panel zone against a recognised calculation matrix, so every assessment is comparable.

04

Hand off

The report is delivered to the claims or estimating system through the API. The commercial decision stays where it belongs.

In production, not in pilot

Embedded in a global AI claims solution provider. Our detection and measurement module forms part of a hardware assessment product sold by a leading international provider of AI claims technology.

Deployed by a top five Japanese insurance company. Rollout began in 2026, with extension to dealerships and partner networks planned.

Built to recognised industry standards. Calculation matrices follow established hail assessment standards, including the BVAT specifications used across the German-speaking market.
