HailMaster

In production Vehicle damage assessment on a standard smartphone or tablet.

A single hail event produces thousands of damaged vehicles within hours. Assessing them by hand takes an experienced estimator between sixty and ninety minutes per vehicle, the result varies between assessors, and the backlog holds up every claim behind it.

HailMaster removes the measurement bottleneck without moving vehicles to a scanning installation. The operator works where the vehicle already is, and the output is a digitised, standardised assessment ready for the claim file.

How an assessment works

01

Capture

On-screen guidance walks the operator around the vehicle. A scale marker or the device LiDAR sensor provides the measurement reference.

02

Measure

Computer vision detects each dent and determines its size, on the device itself rather than in a fixed installation.

03

Standardise

Results are expressed as a dent count per panel zone against the calculation matrix you work with.

04

Hand off

The assessment is delivered into your claims or estimating system through HailMaster Connect.

What you get out of it

  • A full vehicle assessment in around fifteen minutes rather than an hour or more.
  • One measurement standard applied to every vehicle, independent of which assessor performed the inspection.
  • A structured, machine-readable result rather than a handwritten sheet that has to be re-keyed.
  • A photographic record attached to the assessment, retained for the claim file.
  • Capacity that scales with devices rather than with installations, which matters when the event is regional and short.

Your calculation logic stays yours

Twenty two calculation matrices are built in, twelve reflecting established industry standards and ten built to individual customer specifications. Matrices are not required to carry pricing logic: in dent count only mode the assessment stops at a standardised count per panel zone and the commercial decision stays inside your estimating system, where it belongs.

Metric dent size ranges and coin size measurement for the North American market are both supported, so the same application serves markets that describe damage differently.

Deployment

Your own assessors

Distributed as a managed application through Apple Business Manager, with supervised kiosk configuration where devices are shared between operators.

Partner networks

Repair networks, dealerships and independent assessors work in the same application under your tenant, producing assessments in your format.

Policyholder capture

A guided self-assessment flow for claims where sending an assessor to the vehicle is disproportionate to the damage.

The interface is available in ten languages. Practitioner licences for individual PDR and body shops are handled separately on hailmaster.app.

Where it fits

HailMaster augments the assessor rather than replacing the assessment. It is not a competitor to a fixed scanning gantry and it does not attempt to price the repair. It removes the slowest, least consistent step in the process and leaves the judgement to the people and systems that already own it.
